GOG acknowledges fervor for Breath of Fire

Good Old Games (GOG) has taken to Facebook, Twitter/X, BlueSky, and r/breathoffire to spotlight the growing number of votes for Breath of Fire games on its recently debuted GOG Dreamlist program.

GOG has specifically acknowledged the growing number of votes for Breath of Fire IV on the GOG Dreamlist, and encouraged fans to continue voting, sharing stories, and “telling the entire gaming world why you love these games and want to see them preserved and easily accessible again.”

To make matters even more interesting, Breath of Fire IV has been pinned to the “GOG Picks” lineup alongside Freelancer, Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2, Digimon World, and Prey.

Out of the entire series, Breath of Fire IV would be the easiest choice for being ported to GOG’s service, as the game was released on PC CD-ROM back in 2003 in Europe, Japan, and Asia. The PC version was never released in North America, despite being rated by the ESRB back then. While a PC port of Breath of Fire III also exists, it was only localized into Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese and was solely released in Asia back in 2001.

Nevertheless, a vote for any and every Breath of Fire Dreamlist is super important in communicating desire to see the series return to both GOG and Capcom. So if you haven’t voted yet, log into GOG and vote for the entire series and add your story to their Dreamlist pages!
