Good Old Games (GOG) revealed a new wishlist entitled “GOG Dreamlist” today. With GOG Dreamlist, users can add and vote on legacy games that they want to see added to their storefront, and every mainline Breath of Fire game is featured (yes, even 6).
Let’s band together and vote for every Breath of Fire game in the GOG Dreamlist! You can also visit each page and share your own personal memory of the game; we highly encourage doing this.
Links to the GOG Dreamlist pages are below.
With that being said, it’s important to keep your expectations in check. GOG stressed that a game with a high amount of votes isn’t exactly a guarantee a game will appear on the service. But they also mentioned they can use the dreamlist to demonstrate community interest for a game to the IP holder.
It’s also worth noting that GOG is a PC/Mac platform, and the only Breath of Fire titles that received PC releases in the past are Breath of Fire III (in Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese only), Breath of Fire IV (which had its own community wishlist on GOG since 2012), and Breath of Fire 6 (in Japan only, delisted since 2017). In Breath of Fire IV’s case, the existing votes for its community wishlist page have been imported into the new Dreamlist page.
It’s also worth mentioning how one of GOG’s own staff picks for the Dreamlist is Resident Evil Code: Veronica X, a game that never received a PC port. So you should feel emboldened to vote for all the Breath of Fire games!
Nevertheless, it doesn’t hurt to log in, vote, and share the love of BoF with the folks at GOG. You never know; they did just release the PC versions of Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 on the store today and have been on a role with the Resident Evil Bundle, so keep that fervor up!
