Introducing Dragnier, an up-and-coming Breath of Fire Fan Site!

“Doesn’t this just beat all?”

Hello World!

For nearly four months now, I’ve been hard at work on Dragnier: a fan site to celebrate all things Breath of Fire. While I’m nowhere even close to the finish line, I wanted to take this opportunity to “soft launch” the site and introduce it to fans pining for more BoF content.

…Aaand eventually get a little help in the process. 😉

Nearly 22 years after the release of Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter in Japan (and eight years after the oddity surrounding Breath of Fire 6), I’m still delighted to see there are Breath of Fire fans out there on the internet, celebrating the games and their creators . We are an incredibly niche community, but we exist! I’ve seen the enthusiasm daily, ever since I started the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube Breath of Fire fan pages over a decade ago.

Despite the small numbers and incredibly slow traction, I still love to connect and post about the games on the social media fan pages, even if sometimes it feels like I’ve spent more time celebrating the games online and collecting various Breath of Fire memorabilia than actually replaying them!

For the longest time, I’ve wanted to manifest my immense love and passion for this series into something more than a social media page. Following some initial turmoil in my life earlier this year, I got the determination to work on a proper Breath of Fire fan site, and so I bring you Dragnier!

Dragnier is the thrice-localized name of Ryu’s hometown (from “Drogen” in I, to “Dologany” in II, to “Dragnier” in III). It’s also home to the Dragon Clan, and I love the name enough to use it for the fan site.

What can you expect out of Dragnier? Well, take a gander at the first Breath of Fire section, which is not 100% fleshed out, but is certainly getting there. That’s the kind of content I’m aiming to roll out for the other games in the series, as well as news, guides, deep dives, special features, and other resources that I hope prove helpful to everyone, from newcomers, to researchers, to devout Ladon, St. Eva, and Myria worshippers.

So yes, the top bars are still looking rather sparse, but while I work on establishing pages for the other games in the series, you can visit the Breath of Fire game section, read the About and Social pages, bookmark the Features page (something special’s coming REALLY soon), and admire the fantastic Dragnier logo I commissioned from DiceSMS!

Thanks for reading, and please stay tuned for more content and ways you can help the site!
